This Waste to Wonder kit uses hands on activities to educate children about marine conservation and re-purposing waste. Students will listen to a Snapper story and craft a light-up Snapper fish made of waste materials. The aim of this kit is to help children understand the importance of our mighty Tāmure in Auckland's Hauraki Gulf and how overfishing and waste are impacting marine ecosystems. This kit also teaches children to re-imagine waste and helps develop an environmentally conscious mindset. Students are encouraged to bring in their own waste materials for the activity.
